The Black Country is an all-year round destination that has has plenty to see and do whatever the weather, and hosts special events and festivals throughout the summer months. Its a vibrant place where you can explore a wide range of heritage and culture or just enjoy the Black Country hospitality.

You can take a family friendly canal boat trip into mysterious underground labyrinth of the incredible limestone limestone mines under Dudley Castle Hill or be amazed at the skills of modern glass makers and watch glassblowing demonstrations in the Stourbridge Glass Quarter.

You can explore unique wild spaces and the heritage farmland of Sandwell Valley Country Park comprising 2000 acres of lakes, woodland and farms with hidden pools, wildlife refuges and the remains of an old Benedictine monastery. Enjoy quirky traditional Black Country hospitality at places like Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory in Tipton (a world famous pub that invented the huge ‘Desperate Dan’s Cow Pie’) many great pubs offers lovely food, real ale and atmosphere.

If arts are your passion, then our art galleries offer an inspirational insight into the artistic traditions of the Black Country and the global arts movements.  There's the Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery in Walsall, which features an internationally renowned Garman Ryan collection, included works by Jacob Epstein, Modigliani, Monet, Rembrandt, Constable, Van Gogh and Picasso. Walsall Leather Museum is the world’s capital of saddle making. The Leather Museum tells the fascinating story of this trade, in a superb Victorian factory with tours and demonstrations.

Historic Houses and Gardens offer all year round history experiences such as Wightwick Manor and Gardens, Bantock House Museum and Park and Northycote Farm and Country Park in Wolverhampton. Live music and theatre are catered for in our theatres, halls and clubs. Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is a Grade ll listed Victorian theatre presenting touring productions of musicals, drama, dance, opera, family shows, concerts and pantomimes.
