Entitled 'The Brownhills Colossus', this is one of many pieces of Black Country mining themed public art. This is a particularly impressive monument that celebrates and commemorates the rich deep underground coal mining of the Brownhills community.

Standing 12m high in the centre of the main traffic island at the entry to the town, this stainless steel fabricated figure is one of the largest figurative sculptures in the UK. Truly iconic, this sculpture was designed by artist and sculptor John McKenna drawing upon extensive consultation with the local community of Brownhills.
